John Sayles wrote and directed a movie in Florida some years ago called “Sunshine State.” He filmed on location on Amelia Island, a barrier island about 30 miles north of Jacksonville. Cumberland Sound and the St. Marys River flank the island to the west and north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east.
