At first glance, the barred owl appeared to be recovering well from an unknown injury. Veterinarian PJ Deitschel and staff at The von Arx Wildlife Hospital suspected the handsome bird had been hit by a car before someone found it, disoriented and unable to fly, stumbling beside the road and called the hospital at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
